It has been a crazy few weeks, as evidenced by the general silence and crickets that have been chirping all over the blog here. Between product demos, working on a Christmas line (sign up for the newsletter if you want to hear about our Christmas flavours), an anniversary party at Well Seasoned, I feel like I’ve been running around like a crazy person.
Last week we had a launch party at Ishara in gastown for what we believe to be the first macaron pop-up in Vancouver. The event was absolutely fantastic. Between the various local media, bloggers and fashionista’s – you couldn’t have asked for a better crowd to sip champagne and eat macarons with. The event was written up by a bunch of local media including the Georgia Straight. We sampled a “signature” Ishara macaron (Strawberry cheesecake) that we’ve never done before, and it was a huge hit. Ishara has a great set of photos on their Facebook page.
People could not have been kinder, and some of peoples comments on Twitter overwhelmed us with gratitude. The two ladies (anonymous as they are) from Tales From a Bar Stool said our macarons are “giving Laduree a run for their money” – thank you so much.
I had the privilege to talk to so many people including finally meeting Richard Wolak (aka VanFoodster) and tons of the other Twitter faithfuls. Taya and Gary (aka EatingInVan) did up a brief video from the event.
The evening was made even more splendid thanks to the earrings lent to me for the night by the amazing Elsa Corsi of Jeweliette Jewelry and makeup done by the lovely and talented Nadia Albano. Thank you so much to everyone who came to the event to taste and/or purchase some macarons. Our macarons will continue to be available (if you need a fix) at Ishara until September 16th!
